Dear Andrew,
I am really hoping that you and your wife will receive this email. I have to tell you that we recently visited Cincinnati for the first time and spent several days there while my daughter while she was having surgery at the Children's Hospital. We learned of "Dewey's" and had to try it out. (I have a true love for pizza!) It was love at first bite!! I couldn't stop dreaming about Dewey's the whole time I was there. My husband and I fell in love! We left the hospital each evening to make a run over to the Dewey's in Clifton. Every night we experienced a new adventure....a new taste....a new excitement! It was GREAT! I have to tell you that your place made our experience in Cincinnati well worth it! (We live in a small town (very rural) 60 miles south of Buffalo, NY) I just kept telling my husband how badly we need a Dewey's near us. Wow! What a hit it would be!!! Our small city of Salamanca, NY just opened a huge Casino here, but there isn't anything else here. If only Dewey's would take the challenge and have the faith to start a Dewey's in little Salamanca, NY - I know you could make a fortune! There is nothing like Dewey's any place near us. We need a place like yours to draw people to our small little town. Believe me...lot's of potential here. I'd even be willing to jump on board to be trained to do all I could to make it a success. Andrew...you were the smartest of the three siblings! Way to go!!!
Look us up and if you are interested, get in touch with me.... You did a great job bringing "Dewey's" to life! :~ )
I LOVE DEWEY's!!!!

I want to compliment your restaurant....Newport on the Levee... on your service and quality of food. On April 17th at approximately 5:15pm, my husband and I decided to eat at Dewey's.
We ordered a Hawaiian Pizza, and a peppercorn salad, and two soft drinks. The salad was excellent. It was the freshest salad that I believe that I have ever had. The pizza was fast and cooked to perfection. The food was exceptional, but the service and attention was extraordinary. We were so impressed with the attentiveness of your servers. Our drinks were refilled constantly, plates were removed efficiently and we were asked so many times if everything was okay. We enjoy eating out frequently at restaurants with wide ranges in prices and atmosphere. So of all the restaurants we have came across in travels and on a local scale, yours was by far the absolute best service and quality. I mentioned that to two different servers that came to our table. Even a nice man, Kevin came to our table and we had mentioned to him about our wonderful dining experience. I asked for a contact person so I could give the restaurant a "well deserved" compliment. We really appreicated the service and food. We will dine at Dewey's again and again. Please give the management and staff our compliments for a job well done at Dewey's Pizza, Newport at the Levee.
Again, thank you and great job!

Love all the pies, especially the Green Lantern. My wife who is a picky eater loves Dewey's as well. I am ever so thankful that Dewey's is coming to Columbus. Finally, Ohio's capital city gets some real pizza.

4.7.2008

My wife and I just visited the Kirkwood, Missouri location and loved it. Thank you so much for the great service, selection and food. We were impressed with the management and staff, as both were very friendly. Thank you again, and we will be back with our friends.

My Girlfriend is from Connecticut, and one thing I have learned is that you do not mess with Connecticut Pizza. We have searched FOREVER trying to find something like it here in the Cincinnati Area, and finally did. It is just as good, if not better then Connecticut pizza, and she will account for that also!

Great Pizza and Great Service at the new Crestview Hills, KY location!!

Thanks again!

I grew up on the East side of Cleveland. I have been loyal to a Pizza joint in University Heights, named Gerraci’s for years. A few months ago a friend brought me to your place. In my 31 years on this earth, I have never had a better pizza (and I lived in NYC for 3 years). Your décor, service and food is always consistent and great!!! We bring in a group every Friday night after 9 to eat there…It’s late, but you always make us feel like we’re the first customers of the day. I recommend you often to people looking for a great dining experience. Thanks for everything!!!

3.31.2008

I just wanted to drop a quick note to say that I'm so excited that you're opening a Dewey's in Lakewood, Ohio. I've been to your Cedar Lee location several times and LOVE your food. The salads are great and the pizza is amazing!!

3.30.2008

Hello,

I wanted to tell you about a good experience we had today at one of your restaurants. My husband and I used to eat there when we were dating and before we had kids, more often and we loved it. We live an hour away so we don't get there as much as we wish we could but when I mentioned really missing it, we went to the Newport on the Levee location this morning with our 2 and 3 year old sons. We got there an hour early because my husband "figured" it would be open and when what could have been a disaster with two hungry boys, ended up a great lunch. A nice manager let us put in our order so it would be made right at 12:00 and right after we got in to sit down, we had our drinks and salads and very soon after that, our pizza. The salad is very likely my most favorite in the world and the pizzas were delicicious too. We were out of there by 12:45, all four of us completely satisfied. We did thank the manager but I thought I'd pass it along to you - you have a wonderful restaurant and it's so kid-friendly. It's so nice for grown-ups to get a delicious meal in a place where the kids fit right in and have good food they'll actually eat too. I can't wait to come again!

Thanks

Dear Dewey’s Ownership and Brain Trust,

Within a week of moving to the northern suburbs of Cincinnati from the west coast 4 years ago we stopped by your Harper’s Point location looking for a local place we could get excited about (no offense intended to any skyline lovers out there). From the outset, we were hooked. We ordered a few pizzas to try your menu and loved every bite. We were wowed by the service we received that visit – one ingredient had been accidentally left off the “Billy Goat” we ordered. The manager delivered the pizza personally and informed us another one was in the oven to take home for later. Coming from Las Vegas where food and service are an art form, we were instantly impressed. You had us at hello…

On our frequent visits or take-out stops, we would typically savor the “Green Lantern” and have never been disappointed. But we achieved a new level of culinary nirvana when we discovered the “Ryan’s Inferno” last year. I’ve tried every pizza on the menu at California Pizza Kitchen; I’ve sampled all kinds of pizzerias around Chicago and New York; but truly the very best pizza I have ever had is the “Ryan’s Inferno.” My profound gratitude to whichever artist devised that combination – you have my deepest thanks and admiration – go tell Mr. DeWitt you deserve a serious raise!

But then it happened. One day I walked in craving the zesty chicken, bold gorgonzola, and cool, crisp celery and found it was gone. That moment is still too traumatic to talk about…

Which is why I was so ecstatic when a month or so ago we were browsing the menu and discovered our favorite had been resurrected. We’ve been there almost weekly since, taking dozens of friends, telling dozens more, scheduling every lunch meeting I can at Harper’s Point to get my fix. (actually, we’re headed there tonight to celebrate our newly adopted daughter’s 1 ½ birthday – didn’t have her home yet when she turned one). Finalizing the plans for tonight I thought “I have to email them and encourage, implore, appeal, plead, and (insert any and all synonyms of the word “beg”) that you make Ryan’s Inferno a permanent fixture on your already impressive menu.” It is so unlike anything else on your specialty menu that it deserves to receive permanent status. Even in the sometime gastronomically-timid city of Cincinnati, I’m confident I’m not the only one who has fallen in love with the “Inferno.” For the others, it’s just a matter of time until they’re hooked.

I express my view almost every time I’m there. Servers have said, “make a comment at the website.” Managers have said, “make a comment at the website.” Friends have said, “make a comment at the website.” So here’s my comment from the website:
PLEASE MAKE RYAN’S INFERNO A PERMANENT MENU ITEM.

My one fear in making this request is that if it becomes permanent on the menu, I will wind up frittering away my children’s college fund on pizza. I’m willing to take that risk - my fear that “Ryan’s Inferno” might go away again instills such terror that I’m willing to pray the kids qualify for scholarships or other sort of financial aid. They’ll have to once “Dewey’s Fund” replaces “College Savings Fund” in our family budget.

My compliments to you and your employees (especially the outstanding team at your Harper’s Point location). We always leave having enjoyed your excellent environment, impeccable service and delicious food.

Blessings & Thanks!

We go to Dewey's probably once or twice a month, and it's always good. They have some great beers, decent wine, and very responsive and proactive service staff. Very fast paced and not necessarily appropriate for a romantic evening, but if you go later it settles down and is relaxing. Very good salads, calzones and pizzas. Very much enjoy.

Just an update, stopped by for dinner this past weekend and we noticed this is one of the few places that you really see the manager hustle with the staff. This guy never stopped moving, just kept clearing and resetting tables, it's always nice to see management and staff working as a team in order to provide a great experience for their guests - kudos.

Update #2 - just got back from having dinner and had a really great experience with both the manager, Marie, and the server, Josh. The service is always very good, and Josh definitely took great care of us without being intrusive. Always friendly and dependable, there is always someone there when you need them. Further, Marie went above and beyond in making sure our night was pleasant and that we were taken care of. It's places like this, joints that simply serve great food and great service, that put the stuffy and/or chain places to shame. There should be more places like Dewey's. Fantastic.

I wanted to let you know how much my family enjoys your restaurants. We regularly visit the two St Louis locations and we always have the best experiences. Not only are the pizza and salads are excellent, but the employees are even better. I love that they are always there to help without overwhelming you. They are always so nice and helpful. I would love to give you specific names, but every person we have ever dealt with has been great. We love that there are so many other families there when we visit. We definitely feel welcome to bring our two daughters to your restaurants. We cannot say the word “Dewey’s” around my 4 ½ year old daughter without her jumping up and down with excitement. She is your best salesperson in St Louis. She tells all of our friends and neighbors how much she loves your restaurants. My only complaint is that you do such a good job that it is getting harder to get into your locations. We find ourselves having to get ready to leave for your locations at 4:15 so that we can beat the rush. I guess it is giving us practice for our later years. Keep up the good work and please open many more locations in St Louis.

Greetings!

I was searching around the internet looking for the store manager’s name at the Dewey’s on Jasper Street in Dayton. I wanted to let them know that my fiancée and I are huge fans of Dewey’s and have been going at least once a week for salads and meatball pizza. We always recommend Dewey’s to out of town guests as well. We love Dewey’s for the following reasons:

1. We love the servers there! They are always very attentive and we love their friendly, yet laid back attitudes.- This type of service is very hard to find in Dayton. It seems like they genuinely love their jobs and that is quite refreshing!
2. The food is great! We never have to wait long at all!
3. The wine and beer lists are awesome! I am a big fan of Four Sisters, which was recently added to your list!
4. We have recently discovered the carrot cake and love it!

As far as I am concerned, there is nothing to complain about that restaurant. You can class it up one evening, and make it casual the next. We love it!

Dewey’s also participates in a local fundraiser here called Fleurs de Fete, which I work with and we love that they are involved! Thanks again for everything!

To Whom It May Concern;

My husband and I stopped at Dewey's in Kenwood on Saturday Feb. 2nd at 6PM. Our hostess was Nicki and one of our many waitresses and waiters was Jackie. Just had to let you know how impressed we were with our service. Have been to your Newport on the Levee, no complaints, but the service we had tonight in Kenwood was very good. We have a new Dewey's coming in our area the Crestview Mall location. Being from the area I only hope that the service is just as good. Thank you for your time and hope that this location and the people mentioned get recognition for a job well done. I'm sure they hear it when they don't do well. Thanks again.

Heard from one of your employees at your Oakley location the other night (we eat there at least twice a month) that the new Deweys (in the Crestview Mall) should open sometime in March. That is great news! We live in Oakbrook (Boone County) but always go to the Oakley location to eat as the Newport on the Levee store (IMO) is just too hard to go to, due to parking. My wife works at the Little Red School house on Dudley (near St. E's Hospital) so now we can get a carry out Deweys at least once a week. Our favorite is the Edgar Allan Poe, along with a house salad and a good and cold draft beer! :-) Now that is good eating.... and now at least once a week!!!! :-)

Do you have a phone number for the Crestview location yet? Please send it to us when you get one, as we and many of our friends will be using it a lot!!!!!

12.12.2007

Well.... If you really are coming. I am interested in the bartender job. I am 49 yrs old & have been a RN @ Kettering Hospital for 29 yrs. I work 2 -12 hr. shifts a week there now, but I want to do something different. I do sedation for patients having biopsy procedures, so I am very familiar with the public. I have a BA in Art History also, so I am well rounded. That is my neighborhood & I LOVE DEWEY'S menu. My husband & I ate @ the UC/Clifton restaurant while our daughter went there & we were thrilled when it came to Dayton.

I can run 12 miles, if you think 49 is old. But one of the other main reasons I love Deweys is the great music that comes out of the Ipod. They play Wilco, Ryan Adams, & lots of great modern & classic music. The Brown Street manager assures me that you guys check your e-mail & will answer me. I think I could handle wine & beer serving & be an asset because hospitals are all about customer service (morphine with that ice chip sir?). Please file this e-mail if it has interest to you. Thank you very much.

Just saw in the Sunday Enquirer where you folks are coming to Crestview Hills Town Center. I can't tell you how excited that makes me . I LOVE YOUR PIZZA!!!!! I avoid the Newport Center for many reasons but have gladly been making the drive into Cincinnati to the Oakley location. I LOVE YOUR PIZZA!!

Man, oh man, I can't wait!!! Congratulations, guys. Continued success. Believe me, I travel 100% of the time (just returned from two weeks in New Orleans) and I eat pizza everywhere but believe me when I say to you that you have the BEST. I LOVE YOUR PIZZA!!! Pomi's used to be my favorite but something changed. What a Christmas present. Thanks.

Welcome to the area. You'll love it here. I leave in a few days for a four month trip and when I get back I want to see some progress if not the finished item. Save me a seat and I'll swing by on my way back from the airport. The Center is about a mile from my front door. This is the neatest thing I have heard of since they invented the pill...not the little blue one, the other one. Giving away my age a bit, but I don't care. Hurry up.

Seriously, congratulations. Keep up the good work. Good things to good people. Merry Christmas.

11.26.2007

I used to work at the Dayton Location about 2 years ago and I go through severe Deweys Withdrawal!! I really wonder if you are going to ever open a location in Columbus? People might soon think that I am making up how good the pizza and house salad is if they never get to try it! Trust me, I try to get them to travel to Dayton to try it out, but they aren’t budging!

Either way, I stop in to the Jasper St. location when I am in the area or passing through, but if you can bring a Deweys to Columbus I would be VERY happy!

Keep up the good work!

11.19.2007

Hi Dewey:

I worked in Hyde Park before retiring to raise my kids. I became ADDICTED to your pizza. Since I realized that you have a slightly closer location, I decided to load the kids and head to Clifton. I was a little worried that the kids wouldn't be well received in such an adult atmosphere. I was so, so wrong. The staff treated the kids just like they would any other adult. (Except when the pizza chefs threw flour at the kids from behind the glass!) Even when the kids made little mistakes, your staff remained patient. I was very very impressed with the level of service that we received. Your staff made our outing extremely enjoyable.

Thanks for a great lunch and keep up the great work!

11.17.2007

I ate at Deweys (in Kirkwood, MO) for the 1sts time today and I just wanted to let someone know how great it was. My friend had been recommending it to me for quite awhile, but today was the first time I got to go. Unfortunately I don't remember our servers name, but she was very friendly and made sure to repeat back our order which I always appreciate. Our food came out very quickly and was delicious. I know most companies only hear from people complaining about something, so I just thought you might like to hear how great I thought our experience was. I will definitely be back soon.

11.4.2007

Dear sir or madam,

As an avid customer of yours from when we lived in Cincinnati, I am sorely missing your pizza and salads in Columbus, OH. If you are considering expanding into Columbus, there are two high density, upscale community areas that I would strongly recommend looking into.
1. Easton Town Center mall in Columbus. It is very similar to Newport on the Levy and gets tremendous foot traffic year round.
2. Stone Ridge Plaza in Gahanna, OH. Another high traffic area in the North East part of Columbus.

I have to say that as good as these locations are, I'd be happy if you opened a store anywhere in the metro Columbus area. We often plan trips to Cincinnati with a pizza stop at the center of the agenda.

Hope to see you all around here soon!

10.26.2007

I've eaten at your store in Cleveland Heights many times but had never been to your site. Right on with your mission.

Good stuff.

10.24.2007

Hello,

Dewey's was one of 2 restaurants in the Cincinnati area that we were able to take our son to eat. He is severely allergic to eggs, so eating out is nearly impossible. We noticed that a meatball pizza has been added to the menu. When you have a moment, could you please let us know if they contain eggs. Our biggest issue is cross contamination.

Hands down, best pizza!!!

Thank you in advance for your help.

10.20.2007

To whom it may concern,

I want to take a moment to pass on a well-deserved compliment about two of your employees at your Harper's Point location. I suspect you are all too familiar with the detail of an average complaint letters. I'll try to skip the detail and focus mainly on the good part. Simply put the pizza was a disappointment. Uncooked dough and another minor problem with a different rude employee. This night we just needed an easy evening with the kids but you missed for us.

To your rescue came Joe Wethington & our server, Mike. Mike represents you very well working Dewey's only as a 2nd job. You should be proud of both employees. The situation was set up to get much worse but they not only recovered with smiles and sincerity they exceeded our expectations. In today's competitive world in all industries more companies would benefit with folks like them. Joe made an interesting comment during his service recovery that I plan to share with my own employees on Monday. He said, "We sure didn't hit it out of the park this time but I hope you'll come back and give us another chance..." as he handed us a gift certificate for $15. The amount could have been $5 or $55 it would not have mattered. Joe presented a sincerity and 'can-do' attitude that made the difference. Mike, while not empowered to 'fix' our situation, also represented you well. He maintained the situation and tried to make the best of it. I'll request him as our server on our next visit since I am rethinking my tip. I left 25% on the adjusted bill but maybe should have left him more.

Ironically, this all occured after a different mgmt person had offended me in response to a simple request of moving tables. I went back after the rudeness to my wife and mentioned how he probably thinks 'this would be a great job if not for these pesky customers..." I was primed to argue and Joe & Mike when the pizza was a miss but they never opened that door.

I hope you have a moment to thank these 2 employees for showing concern to customers on a busy Saturday night when clearly they had distractions. I really think they handled it as though they wouldn't accept losing even 1 customer.

Thanks again for the excellent customer service by Joe & Mike. We are looking forward to the home run next time!

10.10.2007

We were recently there (Cincinnati) and had a WONDERFUL dinner at the Clifton store. We had a great pizza (1/2 bronx bomber and 1/2Edgar Allen Poe), fresh tasty salads (House & Harvest), and wine. Service was superb but best of all was the food. When are you coming to Upland, California? Thanks so much......you are on our always eat here list when we come back to the area which is once or twice a year. Actually you are now on the top!

See you next time

9.30.2007

I just wanted to let you know what we think. We as a family eat at Deweys 3 times a month. I also have taken customers there for business. I can’t say enough about the place. I have never had a bad experience or service eating there. I can’t say that about any place else. The food is the same quality which is excellent day in and day out. I have never sat at a table and waited for someone to serve me. When we dine out, there is no other choice but Deweys. Last night we ate at the Levee and had the best house salad ever. Hats off to the staff! I hope things never change due to size expansion and greed that can ruin a chain of restaurants. Keep doing what you are doing. It is the best around!

9.12.2007

Dear Sir / Madam,

I wanted to write to let you know what a great experience I had today working with your store in Cleveland. The manager, Jared, was very considerate and helpful, the price was reasonable, and our students loved the pizza - something a little different than your average "corporate" slice.

I will definitely be recommending it to the rest of the teachers and students at school, and continue to order from you for our events.

8.29.2007

To Whom It May Concern,

I’ve been a fan since trying the SW BBQ Chicken pizza at your Oakley location (was that the first?) and your house salad. I am thrilled that a location was built in Montgomery/Symmes Twp—that’s the one I frequent.

I just wanted to say that I am really happy for your restaurant, having expanded across this area and into other cities, as well. I will always be a Dewey’s fan!

8.19.2007

Dear Dewey,

We've been a fan of Dewey's Pizza in Kirkwood since it opened. We've become friends with Eric and Craig- Red we knew before! We know David, Zoe, Justin and others. The people you hire are the key to the outstanding brand you are building. Dewey's gets it! We've enjoyed so much pizza, wine and calzones, that we now see it as our mission to introduce Dewey's to as many people as we can.

We've served Dewey's at our rehearsal dinner, parties and fundraisers. We generally end up ordering more! Craig was the first person to know we were pregnant because as then-bartender Craig, my wife would always order Dr. Pepper- her first deviation to a non-caffeinated beverage was his clue. He kept the secret for 3 months with us.

The first public place we brought our son Liam was Dewey's and it was the first "real" food he got try too. You may not know but the curved rail of your bar, holds a baby nicely. And the window to the kitchen is a brilliant touch to keep the kids busy. Our six year old loves it. He always get pepperoni pie and is a picky eater. Once they brought out just a bowl of pepperoni when he went on an anti-cheese kick and he ate it all- it is these little things that keep everyone coming back. Especially when you take care of the kids- you are taking care of the parents twice.

We've enjoyed the seasonal changes to the menu as we have had the staple items quite often. Keep those coming- maybe increase them?

Sure we go back for the great food and outstanding service, but the real reason is the character of the people who make Dewey's what it is. Eric is especially generous and unfailingly gracious both in and out of work. He has become a good friend I am complimenting for full disclosure, but I am sure you already know what I am telling you is too true. He is a true restaurateur and a great brand ambassador for you in Kirkwood. And I've been in marketing for over 15 years so I know what I am talking about.

Thanks for being a part of the Kirkwood community. We are already telling people about your next store in West County.

8.8.2007

My husband works at St Anthony's Hospital in St Louis, MO; the talk has been about Dewey's Pizza. We took a party of seven with us and could not say enough about the pizza. It is the best pizza in St Louis, the three children loved watching the pizza's being made. It was a great time in Kirkwood and will continue to pass the word, but you need to make another Dewey's Pizza in South County.

6.27.2007

I have lived in St. Louis for 4 years and my major complaint about the city so far is the horrible customer service. Dewey's is a breath of fresh air when it comes to friendly, prompt service. Service and excellent pizza....you have a winner!

6.5.2007

Dear Sir,

I just wanted to congratulate you on your wonderful restaurant. My family and I had dinner at Dewey's this evening and I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the pizza delicious, but the customer service was the best I have experienced in a long time. The wait staff was courteous and unobtrusively observant to our needs. Our drinks were refilled many times without us ever having to ask and we were made to feel that someone truly cared about our dining experience. That is rare anymore. The incident which pushed your restaurant over the top, however, occurred when my order was made incorrectly. Before I even had a chance to realize that the sauce was not the 1/2 and 1/2 which we had ordered, our waiter brought it to my attention. He then had a second pizza made which was what the second half should have been originally. Not only was there no charge for this second pizza, but the first one--which was half right--was also taken off of our bill. All this was done without any prompting from me, as if this was what we should expect to have happen. I was completely amazed as well as grateful, even a little embarrassed. Never before have I experienced such a willingness to make sure that my family and I were completely happy with our meals.

It would have been enough to remake the pizza, but to remove it from our bill was very generous. You will never know how nice it was to feel that someone truly cared about our individual needs, rather than feeling like part of a great herd that just needed to be fed and pushed through so that someone else could have our table.

Again, congratulations on a terrific restaurant. My family and I will be back, and I will tell friends of your terrific food and service.

Thank you.

5.29.2007

We had lunch Saturday at your Kirkwood store and really enjoyed our visit! I don't normally send an advance copy of my reviews, but you earned it.

We visited Dewey's Pizza in Kirkwood, MO on Saturday and were delighted by the entire experience. There was a 10 minute wait for a table, which wasn't a big deal but we were surprised that the restaurant was so busy since Saturday lunch is historically the slowest day of the week for most places. We were seated at a booth that was spotlessly clean, (as was the restroom I visited while waiting for a table) given menus, and our drink order was taken promptly by our server, Annie. The menu was clear and concise and unusually informative, something I really appreciated as I like to know what's going to be on my plate. Even though there was a team service concept going on, Annie was our main server and returned quickly with our drinks. She patiently told us about the pizza and answered our questions even though they were very busy and when I asked for a slight variation on my salad, her "no problem" reply was instant and came with a genuine smile. She also told me that there would be a slight extra charge for what I wanted, which was no big deal--fifty cents--but it was nice to be told in advance and not get the check and see it there. I love informed consent! She left with our order and the other wait staff members refilled our drinks at half-full cheerfully, albeit hurriedly, as they were still slammed. My salad arrived promptly and was delicious and unusual. The usual iceberg lettuce was nowhere to be seen, but the cold, crisp mix of field greens was a pleasant change! Since I was unable to decide between the peppercorn ranch and the house balsamic vinaigrette, Annie brought me a waffle cup of each on the side, and as a sidebar, she is one of the best wait staff I've ever had at any restaurant. She could easily make the jump to fine dining at any 5 star establishment in the country, I was very impressed with her and hope she realizes her potential. Both of the dressings were so good that we saved them after the salad course, something I normally do NOT do.

Annie also told us that we could have a half white and half red pizza, a choice I have never been given before and was delighted to have since I like both red and white pizza. I finished my salad and one of the server team (not Annie) whisked away my plate, but took my used silverware off of the plate and placed it back on the table--the ONLY service flaw in the entire experience, I would have expected clean silverware to be offered and if it wasn't, the dirty utensils removed--I left them on the salad plate for a reason. Service plates and extra napkins were left in advance of the arrival of the pie, and the plates were shiny clean. The pizza arrived and it was magnificent--plenty of toppings and perfectly done with a satisfyingly thick layer of cheese on both sides. I prefer my toppings under the cheese to hold them down and prevent them from escaping off the pie, but it's a minor point. The red side was spicy with just the right bite and amount of sauce and the white side was just as good with the hint of garlic that could have been stronger, but that's a personal preference. The crust was crispy on the outside, pillowy on the inside and totally delicious--one of the best pizza crusts I have ever had. I'm ashamed to admit that we ate every single morsel of the pizza between the two of us--we are hogs to be sure--but we couldn't stop eating the delicious pizza which is why there is no dessert review included this time. Annie came by to make sure the pizza was the way we liked it and the tea refills were continued until we finished the pie and declined any further refills. The check was presented right after the empty pizza dish was removed, and the credit card was whisked away and returned for signature promptly but we were not rushed to leave even though they were STILL very busy. I have not had a service or dining experience to beat this one at any pizza establishment I have ever visited and it rates many returns and a top rating--the best I have ever given any pizza or family casual dining establishment in my life! Keep up the good word--I'm a customer forever! When I have 6 months to live, I am having my bed moved to the store!!

Service 4.75 stars
Food 5 stars

Best Regards

I just wanted to write a short note, telling you how great my experience was today at the Clifton Dewey's. There was a problem in getting our food to the table quickly, and the manager was right on top of it - keeping us informed, making sure our experience was the best it could be. Our server was the best! She was way beyond personable and professional. She was fun.

I'm already a customer and a fan, but you can believe that I will be telling people about my great Dewey's experience.

Hi!

Just wanted to let you know that we love your pizza!!!!! We go to the store in Kirkwood, Missouri, most often. We live in Ellisville, which is about 12 miles away, not a long distance, but it does get cold by the time I bring it home....nevertheless, we will go out of our way for Dewey's Pizza!!!!

We'd like to see a store closer to us in the West St. Louis County area....maybe Chesterfield or there abouts!!!!

Keep up the great work!!!

Hello... I live in Genoa, Ohio just outside of Toledo. My wife and I were just in Cleveland this past weekend and stopped in at your Cleveland Heights Location. We were amazed at the service and the wonderful pizza. We have not had any better pizza than at your pizza place. It was mouth watering and full of flavor. Thanks! We will definitely be back there again next time we are in Cleveland.

Dear Dewey's,

I recently ate at your restaurant in Dayton, Ohio off of Brown St and Jasper St and I had great service. The food quality was also excellent. I just want to commend you for doing an excellent job and I will be making many more trips!

Thank you again!

Hello,

I wanted to pass on a compliment to Danielle at the Montgomery Road location. I had a problem with an order last Saturday. I just spoke to her on the phone about the situation. She handled it in a very professional way and to my satisfaction. I have eaten at Dewey's many, many times at several different locations in Cincinnati and also in the St. Louis area. I feel confident that the problem I encountered was a fluke and will not happen again.

I look forward to continuing my "delicious" relationship with Dewey's Pizza.

Dewey,

Someone brought into work some of your pizza that was left over from their lunch. Oh my gosh! It is the best pizza I've had... ever! I work near the St. Louis airport and will definitely be visiting your University City location soon. It's refreshing to find something so delicious and original. Kudos!

Dear Dewey's Pizza-

I visited Dewey's Pizza in Kirkwood, Missouri last Saturday and was more than pleased after dinner. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile, unlike the other restaurant. There was a little wait so we decided to have a drink at the bar. Our bartender Margie was awesome. She too greeted us with a smile. She recommended some of the beers to us, which we also really enjoyed. We were then sat and were greeted by Christie, our server. Very nice and helpful. It being out first time at Dewey's Christie explained how everything worked and answered every question we had. We decided to order the Peppercorn Ranch salad which arrived at our table promptly. The salad was amazing. It was full of flavor unlike any other salad I have had. We then ordered the half and half, one side Southwest BBQ and the other The Don. The pizza was amazing. There are a lot of pizza joints around St. Louis, but none with pizza tasting like yours. The experience we had at Dewey's was very pleasant. We will definitely be returning.

Your Bartenders, Servers, Hostess and Food were AWESOME!

Thank you!

Just thought that you would like to know:

Wherever we travel, we eat pizza out at least 2 nights at different local restaurants. We have been doing this for a few years. My daughter Courtney is a real pizza connoisseur and actually has a list of her the top 10 pizza restaurants. So when we were in St Louis last summer, and the magazine in our hotel room features the top ten pizzerias in St. Louis, we decided to try them all. For 10 days in a row we ate pizza. I will have you know that Dewey’s made her number 1 immediately. Although we have traveled since (Knoxville, Gatlinburg, Atlanta, Nashville . . .) and even found a new-for-us fantastic pizza restaurant here in Memphis (currently no. 2) - She maintains that Dewey’s is clearly number one and is anxious to travel to St. Louis again soon!

Happy New Year!
